Everyman Summer Theatre Festival 2012

posted Sep 25, 2011 11:16:12 by Peter
Thank you for the splendid turnout at the annual Festival Open meeting on September 19th. It was most gratifying to see so many people prepared to give of their time on a Monday evening - and contribute so positively. It was far and away the best attendance ever!

All of the ideas will help inform the decisions which the Board will be taking on Monday October 3rd. If you have any more ideas before then - please let me know, so that we can make our 30th festival - in our jubilee year - the best ever.

The bullet point notes of the matters discussed and ideas raised at the open meeting can be read under "Important Documents".

Hi Peter

In order to maximise the use of the stage and stand - it would be interesting to look at working with other companies for them to use it when we are not.
Do we have an intinerary of what productions are likely to be on what time/date slot then we can look at filling in the gaps...

The available slots are in the daytime of the musical and (I anticipate) the two Sundays. We would not want to let anything in that was competing for our audiences. That is why I brought in first Wynne Evans and his friends doing operatic excerpts, followed by Songs from the Shows then (last year) Shadwell Opera with Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring.

You will remember the additional shows that were done at Dyffryn - including Michael Morgan and Brian Smith in She Stoops to Conquer. Hence my mooting Fawlty Towers.

By the way, I hope this discussion does not turn into a duologue!
